Trauma Release Hypnotherapy
Frequently Asked Questions

Yes, if they want to be. It is an effective process that has been proven to work well. In fact you will have been in hypnosis many times already.
Have you ever 'zoned out' watching TV, reading a book, doing the dishes or driving a familiar route home from work? If so chances are you were in hypnosis. It is a natural state that everyone goes into multiple times a day without realising. It is also the state you wake up in and fall asleep in.
You will remain in control the entire time and will also remain capable of making decisions at all times. If you wish you may open your eyes during a session and will snap out of the experience just as you would after having a day dream (however as it would likely effect the quality of the session most find they don't want to).
You won't be able to say anything that you don't want to as your conscious mind is still 'observing'. Your mind won't share anything that would go against your values, morals or personal boundaries, you will always have choice on what you share/ don't share.
Stage hypnosis is purely for entertainment purposes and can only be done with a small percentage of the population that can go into a very deep hypnotic state.
Hypnotherapy can be done on anyone who wants to do it and is used for effective change in a therapy context.
Hypnosis is a process utilised to create focus on purpose for a purpose. It is goal orientated and is aimed to work towards a specific outcome. It also utilises techniques to bypass the conscious critical thinking mind to reach the subconscious mind which is more receptive to positive suggestion.
Whereas meditation is usually about creating awareness and space. Practising the art of quietening the mind through conscious awareness. It isn't trying to change anything specific as such and is more focused on observing rather than suggestion work.

The initial consultation is the first step which will involve exploring your desired outcome of the sessions in more detail and I will go into how hypnotherapy/ NLP could help support you. We will end the session with a small 'taster' into hypnosis by having an experience to show you how the mind/ body connection works which is the same concept that is utilised in hypnosis.
The sessions that follow will be following a personalised program tailored to fit you. They will likely incorporate both hypnosis and NLP to build on the positive changes being made.
I typically work with clients over 3-5 sessions depending on the complexity of the issue/ desired development. However it can be different for everyone, no 'one size fits all'. After the initial consultation I will be equipped to recommend a personalised program which will include the estimated number of sessions needed.
